Music means a great deal to me, so knowing my chosen favorite albums is like taking a peak behind the curtain. Fair warning, some of this is heavy. In no particular order. WIP

♕ Magnolia Electric Co. - Songs: Ohia (Jason Molina)

"Life isn't easy." A phrase spoken so often by so many. Slipping on a wet floor, missing a bus, dropping a bowl, it is said over such small things that I feel it has lost it's meaning. I found this album during a time in my life in which I was not nearly as whole as I am now. Every day was a struggle to find meaning and the will to keep going while engulfed in a pit whose walls grew steeper each morning, where the rope had run out and I thought I would never be able to feel it in my grasp again.These songs felt like a warm blanket being placed over my soul for comfort. I could listen to the struggles I have grappled with depicted in this lightning-in-a-bottle album and its unplanned, first-go crown jewel Farewell Transmission. These songs signaled to me that I am not the only pained soul stumbling through life. There were others who, through sharing their own troubles, would guide me to strive for the light on the far side of those dim halls.Molina passed from this world, but his work will resonate with me for the rest of my life, longer because of it.
